Batemans Bay’s temperate climate, friendly locals and spectacular sea and river waterways dotted with tiny islands offer plenty of choice for visitors on the South Coast.
An array of waterside cafes and restaurants along the town’s esplanade and wharf are perfect for enjoying the view, the dolphins and internationally acclaimed Clyde River Oysters and seafood. Shopping malls, arcades, emporiums, boutiques and galleries are only a street away and nearby walkways and cyclepaths meander along the river and sea to safe swimming beaches and rock platforms teeming with marine life. Stingrays are regular visitors around the boat ramps.
Batemans Bay is centrally located on the NSW South Coast with Canberra a scenic 2-hour drive away, the picturesque and historic Tilba region less than an hour south and iconic Montague Island also an hour’s drive south. The famous Pebbly Beach and it’s kangaroos are half an hour drive north and many attractions, villages and beaches in between. Drive north or south from Batemans Bay and within minutes you'll be driving through lush rainforest, and unique Spotted Gum, Tall Eucalypt and Burrawang reserves.
