And beyond to Southern Highlands
One of the greatest things about the Grand Pacific Drive is the option to veer from the spectacular coastline and head west, to explore the glorious Southern Highlands. (Hint: take Illawarra Highway). Visitors to the Southern Highlands often remark that it feels like they are in ‘another world’ that is blessed with magnificent gardens, antiques, wineries, heritage and wondrous natural attractions, with a subtle Scottish vibe. From here you can head back to the coast, which is north east towards Sydney or head to the nation’s capital, Canberra.
